Position Type:  Full-time, part-time and PRN positions available.  Accepting resumes for all of these positions. Scheduled to work at various locations and various schedules including weekends and holidays.

  • ·        Float position - Rotating Holidays and weekends, 1:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. 
    ·        SJRMC 3rd Shift            Seven-on/Seven-off, Monday – Sunday
    ·        State Hospital North - PRN position
    ·        TSMH Lab - Evenings, Monday – Friday from 1:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. plus rotating holidays and weekends

    Location: Various locations


Primary Function:

Collect blood from patients, check quality of blood and assume responsibility for safety and comfort of patient following established standards and practices.

  1.  Maintains strict patient confidentiality. 
     Objective Management 
  a. Special Projects: listed on Performance Evaluation as assigned. 
Position Summary

  2.  Performs duties according to established standard techniques and procedures while utilizing proper equipment. 

  3. .Follows strict principles of asepsis and antisepsis in performing duties. 

  4. .Assemble supplies and equipment. Ensure equipment is clean and functioning properly.  

  5. .Maintains the work area and test tray in sanitary condition. 

  6. .Process specimens accordingly when needed. 

  7. .Store and label blood as required. 

  8. .Participate in Quality Control. 

  9. .Maintain employee updates, in-services and meetings as required. 

  10. .Assist in orientation and training of volunteers, students, and new employees as requested. 

  11. .Consult with and keep supervisor informed of needs, activities and problems. 

  12. .Work overtime if necessary to provide the best coverage possible in the event of a scheduling crisis. 

  13. .Perform other duties as directed. 

Experience Background:

Typing, data entry and computer skills preferred.

Phlebotomy experience preferred.       

 Educational Background:

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Valid driver’s license required.
