Handling: SPECIMEN: LAV + 4 SMEARS 5 ML if EDTA whole blood. Blood smears, thick and thin, prepared from venipuncture blood with anticoagulant must be prepared within 1 hour of collection. PROCEDURE: Routine daily turnaround time is 1-4 hours. Stat procedures available 24 hours a day. Emergency or stat results are available within 30 minutes unless special additional verification procedures are required. Ordering physician will ne notified if turnaround time is exceeded.
