Laboratory Scientist – Job #4

Position Type/Hours:

Full-time, Mon-Fri, 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. sometimes filling in 4:00 a.m. – 1PM and 3:30 p.m. – 12:30 a.m., rotating weekends and holidays

Location:

Lewiston, Idaho – Main Lab

Primary Function:

Under the direction of the department manager, perform analysis on blood, body fluid specimens and report result to the clinician.

  3. Follow regulatory compliance policies (CMS, HIPPA)
  4. Assist Technical Manager with Accreditation compliance (CAP, JCAHO)
  5. Understand Quality Control statistics and procedures
  6. Perform troubleshooting and instrument maintenance
  7. Evaluate results, methodically using specimen integrity, quality control and instrument performance variables
  8. Participate in Continuing Education opportunities
  9. Maintain competency
  10. Participate in Proficiency Testing
  • Objective Management
  1. Complete specific assignments within acceptable time frame
  2. Complete laboratory duties as assigned
  3. Assist in creation and maintenance of 5S and Linear Flow operations
  4. Identify Process Improvement opportunities
  • Workgroup Participation
  1. Assist in training new employees
  2. Assist with inventory control

Experience Background:

Experience with laboratory methodology preferred.
1-3 years of experience as a scientist preferred.

Educational Background:

BS Degree preferred.
ASCP Certified or equivalent.
Valid driver’s license required.
