CORTISOL 60 MIN POST ACTH STIM

Handling: This test is used for cortrosyn (COSYNTROPIN or ACTH) Stimulation testing screening for adrenocortical insufficiency. A baseline sample is drawn immediately prior to injection. Samples at 30 and/or 60 minutes post injection may be drawn. Cortisol levels ar 60 minutes should be approximately double the baseline value and exceed 20ug/dl in patients with normal adrenal function. Draw Heparinized Plasma (PST) or Serum. Performed daily. Available as a stat.
