Handling: One blue top which must be 90% full. Samples with shortdraw or hemolysis will be rejected. Samples will be accepted if received in the lab at room temperature within 4 hours, 2 hours if patient is on Heparin Therapy. If time will exceed this, sample must be centrifuged and the plasma frozen. PROCEDURE: Routine daily turnaround time is 1-4 hours. Stat procedures available 24 houras a day.Emergency or stat results are available within 30 minutes unless special additional verification procedures are required. Ordering physician will be notified if turnaround time is exceeded. REFERENCE RANGE: 25-35 seconds THERAPEUTIC RANGE: 60-104 seconds
